  1. 1. The show of force is part of it, but mainly people are afraid that what happened in Paris could happen in the U.S. and the political cost of not addressing that is really high. NEXT STEP: The Senate will debate and possibly vote on the bill. Obama administration also said that the new provision was harmful because it undermined U.S. leadership and unnecessary because existing screening procedures are rigorous. (-2).
